Welcome to Pop Com!
This is just the start of something old and something new and something borrowed just for you. It’s a perfect marriage of words and pictures. The stories, though, are all new. We have gathered together a crew of talented creators to bring back Dell’s public domain characters and even stories in that vein. Expect to see even more in the issues to come.
Since 2013, I’ve been involved with the gang over at ComicFix. They are just getting off the ground, publishing comics in the vein and in memory of the now defunct comic book publisher, Charlton Comics. I recently had a short story in Charlton Arrow #3. I have a western script accepted for Charlton Wild Frontier, and a superhero revival of the character named, the Shape, for Charlton Action. These stories have not yet been scheduled and are in production at this time. I’ll let you know when I get a solid release date. Heck, I’ll let you know when I get a presumptive release date! I would recommend getting up to date by checking out the Wiki info on Charlton Comics. Then, you need to come on over and join the party. There are very few outlets where beginners and fans and seasoned comic book pros communicate freely and openly on a daily basis.
Another venue that ComicFix or Charlton Neo is exploring is the online Patreon outlet. They are publishing weekly page long comics in color for less than a quarter a week. For a larger pledge, you can get books and art and other things. I have had a comic strip concept accepted, and we are in the process of finalizing an artist for the job. It’s a four panel strip called, Anagram For Crazy. It’s about a cartoon cat named, CC who retires from Hollywood and decides to buy a small comic strip to live in. There will be two strips published every week.
Once things are closer to publication, I will be showing some artwork for all of these stories. The western is Alabaster Kid. The Action is the Shape, and the strip is Anagram For Crazy.
